  • Government approves Procedure for Reintegration, Adaptation and Support of Persons Released from Captivity

    Today, the Government has adopted a resolution "On Approval of the Procedure for Conducting Rehabilitation (Post-Isolation, Reintegration) Measures, Adaptation, Support (Accompaniment) of Persons in Respect of Whom the Deprivation of Personal Liberty as a Result of Armed Aggression against Ukraine Has Been Established, after Their Release". The relevant act was drafted by the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

    The document stipulates that reintegration measures and post-isolation support for Ukrainian defenders released from captivity are mandatory for the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine (upon agreement), the State Protection Department (upon agreement) and the Foreign Intelligence Service (upon agreement). As for the released civilians, with their consent, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Security Service of Ukraine (with their consent).

    The resolution also provides for

    - improving and streamlining the mechanism of priority measures to ensure social protection of these persons;

    - determining the list of measures to organise the provision of medical, rehabilitation and psychological assistance to such persons;

    - approving requirements for reintegration centres that provide medical, rehabilitation and psychological assistance to persons released from captivity.

    The adoption of this decision will contribute to the implementation of the state policy on ensuring social and legal protection of those released from captivity and their families.
