Government approves Procedure for responding to cases of gender discrimination

At its regular meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision approving the Procedure for responding to cases of gender discrimination. The implementation of this document will help prevent gender discrimination and violence, respond promptly to such cases and ensure adequate protection for victims.

In particular, the Procedure defines general approaches to the consideration of complaints, the procedure for filing them, the mechanism for reporting complaints, the results of their consideration, and the form of annual reporting of such information to the National Social Service. It also approves ways to prevent gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and gender-based violence.

Permanent commissions are established to consider appeals and respond promptly to relevant cases.

The drafting of the Procedure takes into account the recommendations of the European Commission based on the results of screening the implementation of EU laws into Ukrainian legislation.
