  • Government approves list of 22 scientific and technical (experimental) developments to meet priority state needs

    On 17 January, at a meeting of the Government, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On approval of the list of scientific and technical (experimental) developments within the framework of the state order for the most important scientific and technical (experimental) developments and scientific and technical products in 2025-2026” was adopted.

    The Ministry of Education and Science annually compiles a list of scientific and technical (experimental) developments on a competitive basis as part of the state order. This list is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in accordance with Article 57 of the Law of Ukraine “On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities”.

    The government decision approved a list of 22 scientific and technical developments with a total funding of UAH 186,794,250, of which:

    • in 2025 – UAH 119,871,020.
    • in 2026 – UAH 66,923,230 (forecast).

    Scientific and technical (experimental) developments are aimed at obtaining a scientific and technical (applied) result brought to the stage of practical use to ensure the development of the economy, society, and strengthening national security through the use of scientific and scientific and technical achievements, in particular through the development of dual-use technologies.

    In 2024, for the first time, the Ministry of Education and Science ensured that ministries and other central executive bodies with key competence in the relevant area of legal regulation developed priority topics and initial terms of reference. The following agencies joined this process: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Strategic Industries, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection. A competitive selection process was announced in accordance with the priority state needs identified by these bodies and other central executive agencies.
