Government endorses second allocation of subsidies—UAH 421.1 million—for the renovation of school canteens
The renovation of school infrastructure continues as part of the school meal reform. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is implementing this initiative in partnership with local communities. During a Government session, the second round of subsidies was approved—UAH 421.1 million for the modernization of school cafeterias in 15 regions.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.
“The funds will be used to purchase equipment and to establish and modernize 25 kitchen facilities. Meals in educational institutions must be safe and high-quality. This fosters a culture of healthy eating and is an investment in children’s futures,” said the Head of Government.
Previously, the Cabinet of Ministers had already earmarked UAH 46.5 million to complete the renovation of 19 school cafeterias, a project that began in 2025.
In total, approximately 20% of canteens have already been modernized: 188 were renovated using state subsidies, and over 1,500 more were renovated thanks to funding from local budgets and support from international partners.
