Applicants will be able to choose the field and type of vocational training, as well as educational institutions from the list to be published on the website of the State Employment Centre.
This is stated in the Procedure for Implementation of the Pilot Project on the Organisation of Training for Combatants and Persons with War-Related Disabilities in Vocational (Professional and Technical) Education Institutions of the State Employment Service, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The pilot project is aimed at increasing competitiveness in the labour market and will also facilitate further employment of war veterans and persons with disabilities sustained during the war. The pilot project will be coordinated by the Ministry of Economy and the State Employment Service as part of the system of transition from military career to civilian life implemented by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs.
“The strategy of transition from military service to civilian life is an institutional reform that enables the reintegration of combatants, service members and their families into civilian life. The State must create a system of transition from military service to civilian life that will ensure, in particular, a systematic analysis of the life path of our soldiers after demobilisation. Such a transition system will ensure coordination of the actions of the ministries and agencies involved, as well as local governments, in order to obtain all the necessary tools for successful reintegration into civilian life and professional development. I am grateful to the Ministry of Economy for such an important and necessary project,” said Yulia Laputina, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Under the Procedure, combatants and people with war-related disabilities will be able to receive initial vocational training as well as retraining or further education.
In addition, persons studying away from their place of residence and persons accompanying a person with a Group I war-related disability will be reimbursed for travel to and from the place of study, as well as accommodation for the period of study.
Vocational training and related expenses during the pilot project will be financed by the Fund of Mandatory State Social Insurance for Unemployment.
