Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Maliuska participated in the event “Countering Corruption and Accelerating the Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and Moldova” in the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York. The event was organised by USAID and the Atlantic Council.
Hosted by USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman and Senior Director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center and former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst, the event brought together senior officials from Ukraine and Moldova, as well as leading civil society and other key stakeholders, to discuss next steps for anti-corruption progress and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Ukrainian Minister of Justice, speaking via video link from Ukraine, gave a detailed account of Ukraine’s strict adherence to the principles of European standards of living. Last year, the Verkhovna Rada approved the anti-corruption strategy for 2021-2025. It states that the continued fight against corruption remains one of the main demands of society and a priority of the Ukrainian Government.
