  • Government allocates UAH 350 million to support recovery of energy companies
Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 19 August 2023 17:45

The Government has allocated UAH 350 million from the State Budget Reserve Fund to provide financial support to energy companies by compensating interest on loans for the restoration, repair or replacement of war-damaged energy facilities. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 19 August.

“With today’s decision, the Government is providing financial support to energy companies to carry out repairs and replace equipment and facilities damaged by russian missile strikes. This will help them prepare for the upcoming heating season,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

State financial support will be provided to business entities, regardless of ownership, that produce electricity at thermal power plants and/or combined heat and power plants by reducing the cost of loans. The loans, for which interest will be compensated, are provided for the restoration, repair or replacement of the energy infrastructure of thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants damaged as a result of hostilities, which are necessary for the sustainable autumn-winter periods of 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.
