Government adds two items to the list of critical infrastructure: production of veterinary drugs and operation of elevators
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted Resolution No. 455, which adds new items to the list of critical infrastructure facilities, including enterprises engaged in the production of veterinary drugs and the operation of elevators.
According to Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the fight against infectious animal diseases has a direct impact on the country's economy. The main factor in preventing most animal diseases is preventive vaccination. The instability of the epizootic situation in the country can lead to significant economic losses associated with a decrease in the weight gain of agricultural livestock, their death and restrictions on trade, both in the domestic and foreign markets.
"The production of veterinary medicines is an important industry for ensuring a stable epizootic situation in the country, and this industry needs government support," said Taras Vysotskyi.
He also stressed that the continuous operation of elevators was essential for stable and uniform exports of basic products and was important for the national strategic food supply.
The main list of critical infrastructure facilities is regulated by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1109 dated 09 October 2020 (as amended by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1384 dated 16 December 2022).
