Government eliminates overlap in industrial policy powers between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture

In order to streamline operations and prevent duplication of functions between central government bodies, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that finally settles the transfer of non-core powers from the Ministry of Defence to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

The Government has introduced the corresponding amendments to the Regulation on the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

Powers relating to the implementation of the general state industrial policy have now been removed from the jurisdiction of the defence ministry and consolidated under the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

This decision guarantees a clear division of responsibilities at the level of central executive authorities.
