Government adopts decision to allocate additional funds for current roadwork
The Government has adopted a decision to distribute funds allocated in the 2026 State Budget for the repair and maintenance of public roads. Some UAH 4.6 billion shall be allocated directly to current roadwork. The Government has also decided to disburse an additional UAH 3 billion from the State Budget’s reserve fund for the repair of key roads of international and national importance.
The funds will be used to repair high-traffic roads, as well as roads that play a crucial role in evacuation and supplying frontline regions.
“The Government’s decision will significantly accelerate repairs on the country’s main transportation routes. We plan to complete ongoing repairs on international highways by May 1, and all major work by June 1, 2026. I thank Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the Government for supporting this decision, which allows for the prompt provision of funding for road repairs and ensures the stable operation of the country’s transport logistics,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
Repair work is currently underway in all regions of Ukraine. Road crews have increased the intensity of their work and are repairing nearly 80,000 square meters daily. A few weeks ago, the average pace of work was 30,000–40,000 square meters per day. The volume of repairs is expected to reach 100,000–150,000 square meters per day.
As of today, more than 1,200 workers in 135 repair crews have restored over 84,700 square meters.
Since the beginning of 2026, more than 736,000 square meters of road surface have been restored.
