Government adopts new rules for the creation and administration of state IT systems
Unified digital standards, software updates, and cost optimization in the public sector - these are the changes approved by the Government in a resolution today. From now on, state IT systems will be created, updated, and maintained according to the new rules.
Mandatory requirements for each stage of IT systems' operation:
- Creation, updating, and development of information technology tools.
- Support and administration of information resources.
- Replacement of old, inefficient programs.
- Localization of programs to meet Ukrainian standards.
- Benefits for the state and business:
- A single standard for all customers.
Previously, each institution had its particular approach to IT project management. Now, the requirements will be unified to ensure more efficient use of funds.
- Transparency and cost control.
The new system will help optimize public spending on IT: budget requests will become more reasonable and manipulation of pricing in tenders will be impossible.
- Flexibility and scalability of IT systems.
Open standards will simplify the integration of information systems and make them adaptable.
- Data protection and security.
Requirements for cybersecurity and personal data protection have been tightened, which is especially important for state registries, e-governance systems, and online services.
This is how we optimize digital technologies and improve the quality and security of public services, making them convenient for Ukrainians.
