Government and agrarian sector agree on next steps to support the industry amid Russia’s terror in the Black Sea

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, together with the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with representatives of the agrarian sector. Participants discussed measures to support farmers and ensure the stable functioning of the industry under conditions of Russia’s ongoing terror in the Black Sea.

According to the Prime Minister, following consultations with business, the Government has already adopted the first package of urgent decisions. 

"We launched an affordable lending program for farmers to secure the sowing campaign. An additional ₴6 billion has been issued under the “Affordable Loans at 5‑7‑9%” program. Minimum export prices for grain and oilseed crops have been reduced, and the National Bank’s requirements for agricultural lending have been revised," stressed the Head of Government.

The Cabinet of Ministers is working with international partners to strengthen alternative logistics routes and restore free navigation.

An important area of work is strengthening alternative logistics routes. The Government, together with international partners, is focused on expanding these routes and restoring freedom of navigation.

During the meeting, the participants discussed prioritizing rail transport for certain agricultural products, ensuring the security of export routes, and providing insurance for vessels.

Following the meeting, the next steps were agreed. The Government plans to endorse the necessary in the near future.
