The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution to allocate UAH 2.56 billion from the State Budget reserve fund for the purchase of modular distributed generation equipment for the generation of heat and electricity where it is most needed.

"In the context of constant russian attacks on energy infrastructure, we need not only large energy facilities, but also smaller distributed generation installations that are independent of centralised networks," emphasised Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

The allocated funds will be used to purchase high-power generators for the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions. If necessary, the equipment can be quickly redirected to other regions.

Purchases will be made using simplified procedures without delay. The Government has designated a responsible customer and established a clear procedure for using the equipment, primarily to ensure the operation of heat, water supply and wastewater facilities.
