Government expands list of facilities for priority power supply: Prime Minister
Due to the russian terror and the abnormal heat wave, Ukraine is experiencing a constant shortage of generation capacity, so Ukrenergo is forced to resort to power cuts. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during an offsite meeting of the Government in Zaporizhzhia region.
“In these circumstances, the public demand is for fairness in the distribution of available electricity. The Government is responding to this request and forming a list of critical facilities that are guaranteed priority electricity supply,” the Prime Minister said.
As a result of communication with the regional military administration, the Government has refined this list. In addition to gas, heat, electricity, water supply and sewerage facilities, hospitals, settlements and facilities within a 20-kilometre zone from the border with russia and belarus and within 20 kilometres of the frontline will not be cut off from electricity.
The algorithm will also be improved to ensure an even sequence and duration of power cuts.
