Government launches new phase in overhaul of energy enterprise management

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has announced the start of the next stage in the restructuring of energy companies as part of the Government’s plan to reform the energy sector.

According to the Prime Minister, the selection of candidates for the supervisory boards of several strategically important companies begins on Monday, including:

  • LLC “Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine”,
  • JSC “Ukrainian Distribution Grids”,
  • JSC “Market Operator”,
  • PJSC “Centrenergo”,
  • JSC “Energy Company of Ukraine”,
  • SE “NNEGC Energoatom”,
  • NPC “Ukrenergo”,
  • JSC “Ukrhydroenergo”.

All details regarding the progress of the competitive selection process will be published by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture. The formation of the new supervisory boards is planned to be completed in January.

In addition, on Friday a competition was launched for four positions of independent members of the supervisory board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”.

The Prime Minister has called on honest and qualified candidates to apply for the competitions, emphasising that the Government’s primary aim is to ensure transparency, efficiency and oversight in the management of companies in the energy sector.
