The Government speeds up the repair and protection of roads used for military and medical logistics.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a corresponding resolution.

Restoration and protection of logistics routes

The initiative involves identifying a list of roads of national importance in frontline territories that require repair and anti-drone protection, as well as securing funding for these works.

Given the threat of enemy strikes and the intensive use of logistics routes, maintaining roads in proper condition is critically important.

Role of the State Special Transport Service is expanded in the combat zone

The draft resolution provides for the involvement of the State Special Transport Service in carrying out repair work and anti-drone protection measures. The State Special Transport Service will also be entrusted with the functions of the contracting authority for routine repairs and operational maintenance of damaged roads in areas of active combat operations.

The document also specifies:

• sources of funding;
• conditions for performing the work;
• the procedure for coordination among executive authorities;
• specifics of defense procurement.

The proposed mechanism is intended to ensure the rapid restoration of roads in frontline areas.
