The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of over UAH 2.3 billion from the state budget’s reserve fund for two major projects.
How will the funds be used?
- UAH 1.129 billion will be allocated for the installation of 18 modular boiler units in Mykolaiv. This will ensure the city has heating for the upcoming heating season. Following a series of enemy attacks that damaged the central combined heat and power plant, the city faced the risk of disrupted heat supply for residents. The Government’s decision will help mitigate the risk of a technogenic emergency during wartime.
- UAH 1.104 billion will be directed towards creating barrier-free environments in 11 regions of Ukraine to adapt infrastructure for people with disabilities and low-mobility groups. Nearly a third of the population faces mobility challenges, yet many social, medical, and educational facilities remain inaccessible. This decision will enable the modernisation of critical infrastructure and create conditions for dignified and equal access in communities.
“This decision reflects the state’s responsibility to its citizens. We are supporting communities and every individual awaiting real change in their city or town. This step allows us to promptly address two critical tasks – ensuring a stable heat supply for tens of thousands of Mykolaiv residents and launching systemic infrastructure modernisation for people with disabilities in the regions,” said Deputy Minister of Economy Vitaliy Kindrativ.
