Government extends compensation period for IDPs without documents

Under the Government’s decision, developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, the period during which institutions may receive temporary compensation for accommodating internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have lost their documents has been extended from two to three months. The changes will provide affected individuals with sufficient time to restore their documents without losing their entitlement to state support.

The Government has also expanded the list of documents that can be used to confirm damage to or destruction of housing by allowing the use of a remote inspection report.

In addition, the procedure for granting compensation has been simplified through the introduction of mandatory disclosure of detailed information in the electronic cabinet of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, including:

  • a list of internally displaced persons who have been granted compensation;
  • a list of persons denied compensation, including the reasons for refusal;
  • calculations of compensation amounts;
  • information on compensation amounts accrued and paid, broken down by calendar month and accrual period.
