Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 10 January 2023 17:50

The Government's program to pay compensation to employers for the employment of internally displaced persons will continue to operate in 2023. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution amending the Procedure for providing such compensation at a Government meeting on January 10, 2023.

The Government's decision provides for supplementing the financing mechanisms of the program, in particular, at the expense of the Compulsory State Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine in case of unemployment (within financial capabilities) and other sources not prohibited by law.

"The proposed changes will allow to continue in 2023 the implementation of this program, which is in demand among employers. Last year, it was used by more than 10,000 entrepreneurs. They received compensation from the state totaling UAH 200 million for hiring almost 16,500 internally displaced persons," said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.

The forecast expenditures of the Fund for 2023 amount to UAH 308 million with the forecast employment of 23,000 people.

It will be recalled that the Government introduced a programme to encourage entrepreneurs to hire internally displaced persons in April 2022. The purpose of the program is to accelerate the adaptation of people who were forced to move from dangerous regions and increase employment among the population. For each employed internally displaced person, the state pays compensation to the employer in the amount of the minimum wage (UAH 6,700) during 2 months.
