The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft Decree of the President of Ukraine on the implementation of the National Security and Defence Council’s decision to create a separate type of force within the Armed Forces – the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The document was drawn up by the Ministry of Defence in conjunction with the General Staff in order to increase the country’s defences against growing russian aggression.
In particular, it envisages the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces as one of the main carriers of the combat potential and technological advantage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will be used to engage the enemy at all levels – strategic, operational and tactical – with unmanned systems in the air, on land and at sea.
To implement the provisions of the draft Presidential Decree, the Ministry of Defence will prepare and submit to the Government a relevant draft law on the establishment of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces is an important step towards enhancing Ukraine’s defence capability and ensuring the country’s security in today’s geopolitical environment.
