Government allocates over UAH 2 billion to Ministry of Defence for Army of Drones Bonus project

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported a proposal from the Ministry of Defence to redirect the remaining funds from the special fund of the state budget, originally allocated to the Ministry for Strategic Industries, amounting to UAH 2,050,028,309, to enhance funding for the Army of Drones Bonus project.

This decision was adopted during a Government meeting today, 22 September.

The source of these funds is the unutilised portion of the “military tax” (personal income tax from the monetary allowances of military personnel, police officers, and rank-and-file and commanding staff) accumulated as of 1 January 2025, which was not used by the Ministry of Strategic Industries.

Background

The Army of Drones Bonus project is a motivation and points-based system for military units, rewarding verified strikes on enemy targets, also known as “e-points”.

With the earned combat points, units can order UAVs, ground robotic systems, and electronic warfare equipment of Ukrainian manufacture through the Brave1 Market platform.
