The Government has decided to change approaches to funding universities.
"We are changing the approaches to funding universities - we will finance higher educational institutions in accordance with their performance," said Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.
As of January, a formular approach will be applied - 80% of the budget will be guaranteed to higher educational establishments for basic expenditures, the remaining amount - depending on the position of each particular university in international rankings, the proportion of employed graduates, the amount of funds attracted from alternative sources, etc.
"We abandon the traditional indicator of the number of students," the Head of Government emphasized. This decision will allow for improving the quality of education that students receive at universities and will stimulate an economically sound policy of university leadership.
