Ukrzaliznytsia has prepared personal protective means and special rooms at the railway stations in case of the detection of patients with symptoms of respiratory diseases in order to verify coronavirus infection. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii today, February 27, 2020.
"No cases of coronavirus have been reported in Ukraine. To monitor the health of citizens arriving in Ukraine from countries with reported cases of COVID-19, temperature screening is carried out at airports and at all border checkpoints," said Vladyslav Kryklii.
The Minister informed that 10,000 respirators, 25,000 pairs of examination gloves, more than 1,000 eye-shields were available in the railway stations, it is planned to receive batches of hand disinfectants and coveralls. 19 railway stations have medical facilities equipped with everything necessary to carry out temporary isolation of patients: Kyiv-Passenger, Chop, Khmelnytsky, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kolomyya, Sumy, Kherson, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Poltava-Yuzhny, Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Koziatyn, Mykolayiv, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, T. Shevchenko. At 5 stations there were organized premises for temporary isolation of persons with symptoms of respiratory diseases: Zaporizhzhia-1, Rivne, Ternopil, Fastiv, Bila Tserkva. To contain the virus on the train path, the body temperature of the passengers is measured.
"The panic virus is the most dangerous of all others. We remain calm and adhere to the MoH's advice on the prevention of viral diseases as well as work on modernizing Ukraine's transport infrastructure," the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.
