  • Ukrainian and British officials discussed prospects for cooperation

    The Ukrainian delegation consisting of Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration and Volodymyr Lapa, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection met with representatives of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in London on October 8, 2018. The sides discussed the development of mutual trade, the prospects of cooperation in risk assessment and improvement of food safety control system.

    The parties also analyzed the functioning of the food safety system in Ukraine and the UK, food standards in Ukraine, in particular in the context of its exports, and etc.

    Volodymyr Lapa stressed that Ukraine devotes special attention to the development of the effective system for monitoring the quality and safety of food products in line with the best European practices in order to further develop the export potential of the domestic agricultural sector.

    The working visit of the Ukrainian delegation takes place at the invitation of the British Embassy in order to exchange experience on improving the food safety control system and the establishment of reference laboratories
