Today, September 17, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko held a meeting with representatives of all regional state-owned enterprises working in the field of technical regulation, standardization and metrology. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Iryna Novikova, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Kostiantyn Marjevych, representatives of relevant departments of the Ministry.
The event was dedicated to considering the key tasks of the sphere to ensure the support of the national producers in the domestic market and the Ukrainian exporters in the foreign market. The emphasis was also placed on the process of preparation for the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA).
"Joining efforts, we must help our business, our industry to comply with European standards, increase competitiveness and enter new European markets, develop our trade and economic relations with the EU. Ukrainian companies should receive an industrial visa-free regime," said Ihor Petrashko.
He added that compliance with European standards depends on the renewal and modernization of national laboratories, staff training, providing high-quality services to producers and consumers of Ukrainian industrial products.
So far, 8 new draft international agreements on cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment have been signed (Republic of Peru, Republic of Korea, Republic of Kuwait, Republic of Croatia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Poland).
Another crucial task is the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA).
“It is planned that next month, the European side will conduct a Preliminary Assessment Mission of the readiness of the Ukrainian quality infrastructure for the conclusion of the ACAA Agreement. We must get positive results of this work," the Minister stressed.
During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to discuss problematic issues and work out a single algorithm for further action.
