Ukraine is provided with coal and gas for stable passage of the heating season, says Denys Shmyhal

Ukraine has enough gas and coal for a stable passing of the heating season. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated during a briefing on the outcomes a working visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region.

"In recent years, the heating season began for the first time without any problems, we faced no critical situations and stress," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Head of Government stressed that despite the global energy crisis and turbulence in world markets, the situation with providing Ukraine with coal and gas is stable.

The Prime Minister noted that according to the Ministry of Energy, there is currently observed a positive balance with the accumulation of coal in Ukrainian storage facilities. With revenues of more than 2 million tons of coal from imports and domestic production, monthly consumption ranges from 1.7 to 1.9 million tons. In addition, coal production in Ukrainian mines has increased by 28%.

The Head of Government also added that according to NJSC Naftogaz, Ukrainian gas storage facilities have sufficient amount of gas to run this heating season normally. The population, the budget sphere and industry are fully supplied, no risks of the disruption of the heating season exist.
