On January 30, the Government supported the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and decided to withdraw from the agreement "On general conditions of delivery of goods between the organizations of member states of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) ".
The relevant agreement of 1992 defined the principles of conclusion, amendments and termination of the interstate trade agreements between the member states of CIS, including the amounts, limits, deadlines of the delivery of goods, and attached specific suppliers to specific consumers.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, this agreement encapsulates obsolete settlements of planned economic times, which is unacceptable and does not comply with the modern principles of market economy in Ukraine.
Apart from that, actual interstate trade and economic agreements between CIS member states do not exist now.
According to the decision of the Government of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should inform the CIS Executive Committee about Ukraine’s withdrawal from the agreement.
