Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei.
Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for fruitful cooperation in countering the spread of COVID-19. The interlocutors commended the interaction of the ministries of the two countries in the matter of returning Ukrainian and Belarusian citizens to the Motherland in March-April this year.
Foreign ministers highly evaluated the state of implementation of the agreements reached during the October 4, 2019 meeting in Zhytomyr. Ministers reaffirmed their readiness to hold the Third Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus in October 2020 in Grodno.
During the talks, the parties focused on bilateral cooperation, especially the development of trade, infrastructure and energy as the sectors of priority. Currently, preparations are underway for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Belarusian Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine invited his Belarusian counterpart to pay a working visit to Ukraine.
