  • Ukraine and South Korea to focus on joint development of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency

    Participants of  Ukraine – Korea Energy Forum initiated by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine discussed possible ways of cooperation between business circles of Ukraine and South Korea.

    The forum became a logical continuation of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation headed by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine /Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv to the Republic of Korea this spring.

    South Korea is also committed to reducing energy dependence. Therefore, the exchange of best practices and knowledge, the introduction of innovations and joint projects are mutually beneficial for both countries.

    In particular, South Korea has significant experience in the field of energy from waste.  Ukraine is opening potential exactly of this sphere.

    "The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving together with experts has shaped a concept of stimulation of energy utilization of garbage in Ukraine, which will be the basis of the relevant bill", the Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhii Savchuk stressed.

    Renewable energy, installation of electric accumulating systems, "smart grids, production of equipment for generating of clean energy are promising projects for the both countries.
