  • Ukraine to foster cooperation with Israel in defense and security sector

    Today, January 22, during the official visit to the State of Israel, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak got familiarized with advanced defense technologies from Elbit Systems, a leading Israeli company for the development and modernization of airborne, land and naval systems and products for defense and security.

    The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, SE Ukroboronprom and the leadership of SE Spetstechnoexport.

    During the meeting, Stepan Poltorak expressed interest in deepening cooperation with the Israeli company.

    On the outcomes of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between SE Ukroboronprom and Elbit Systems Ltd. The document determines the further development of joint projects in the following areas: intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems for land and airborne forces, air and rescue equipment, radar stations, port security equipment, armored vehicle modernization.

    The Memorandum stipulates that the implementation of further projects will take place using mechanisms of exchange of technologies and practical experience of the use of new armament.

     During the meeting, it was also noted that the Memorandum is a real breakthrough in the relations between the defense structures of the partner countries. Moreover, the signed document in the future will enable improvement of the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
