Cooperation and partnership of Ukraine and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be strengthened and is considered as an effective tool for achieving the goals of the chosen by Ukraine course towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
This was announced by Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olexandr Saienko during the conference Enhancing the Government center in Ukraine: lessons from OECD member countries.
"Currently, the Government faces new challenges that require a centralized and well-coordinated work of all participants in the process: the introduction of strategic planning, ensuring coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the state policy, its consistency, and the review of the functions of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The latter should become less conservative and more flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances", he said.
He emphasized that here, as a success story, we see the experience of the OECD countries, which will be adopted to achieve the set goals. And over the past years, the Government of Ukraine has been actively working to deepen cooperation with this Organization, aimed at supporting activities in the areas of public administration, fighting corruption, developing sectoral competitiveness, managing state enterprises, developing small and medium-sized enterprises, improving the system of tax administration, developing statistics.
"Tomorrow we will sign an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the OECD to better use the resource of the organization in its work. I am convinced that the reform of public administration should take place in close cooperation with the Organization. We hope that applying the best international experience in market economy management, research and expertise on the development of public governance in the OECD countries will help us in further work", stated Olexandr Saienko.
