  • Ukraine rose to 8th position in the attractiveness of investments into renewable energy among emerging markets

    A year ago, Ukraine was ranked the 63rd, and in 2019 rose by 55 positions, namely - to 8th place in the attractiveness of emerging markets rating in terms of clean energy. This is stated in the annual Climatescope Report prepared by research firm Bloomberg NEF.

    The report contains an analysis of over 100 countries and their potential to leverage investment in clean energy, as well as develop a green economy.

    The TOP seven countries are India, Chile, Brazil, China, Argentina, Jordan and Kenya.

    “Today, it is important to maintain a favorable climate for green investment in Ukraine, while taking into account the needs of society. Therefore, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving (SAEE) continues to work on the legislative framework, in particular, on the initiatives to introduce competitive markets for liquid and solid biofuels, green bonds,” commented Yurii Shafarenko, Head of the Department of Renewable Energy of the SAEE.

    The Ambassador of Renewable Energy Ruslana Lyzhychko has also emphasized on the results of the report during the X International Investment Forum in Kyiv on Renewable Energy, adding that Ukraine possesses opportunities and considerable potential to achieve the set goals in this field.
