  • Volodymyr Groysman at the conference "Dialogues on the future": Ukraine is at a historical turning point when the future depends on our actions and decisions

    Ukraine is currently at a landmark moment when the future depends entirely on the actions and decisions of the authorities that can provide either an economic breakthrough and growth, or setting back. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the international conference "Dialogues on the future".

    "Many countries have undergone changes in economic spheres. We have many things to deal with in future. These are challenges and opportunities", Volodymyr Groysman emphasized.

    He stressed that as a result of Russian aggression Ukraine suffered economic losses which caused the outdated management systems, the raw material orientation of the economy, its overregulation, and a significant degree of corruption. "Under such conditions, it is impossible to rely on serious investment. We need to create a qualitative basis for attracting investment. In view of this, I want to stress today we are at moment of history.  Either we continue reforms and transformations and gain confidence within the state and in the international arena, or we lag behind ", the Prime Minister stressed.

    The Head of Government emphasized that the adoption of the law on the Supreme Anticorruption Court by the parliamentary majority of  is a path towards reforms. This is a milestone decision, the value of which we will be able to asses after some  time - when there will be real cases and decisions, Volodymyr Groisman emphasized. " I want to remind that we gave a green light to a renewed Supreme Court in this session hall.  When I welcomed the judges I have told them a fundamental thing- you have the key to the door behind which justice is. If we are able to open these doors - the state will change, " the Prime Minister said.

    The Prime Minister stressed that there exist  potential to realize those ideas. The forecasted  economic growth to the tune of 5 % is a very realistic target that can be achieved if to spare no effort.

    "Do we have threats? The answer is yes, in particular, populism and irresponsible politics ", the Prime Minister emphasized.

    According to him, the renewal of power will become countering action to these threats, inter alia, when there will be a sufficient number of people who are ready for transformations, and  when a full-fledged market will be created where investments will yield result, and entrepreneurs will realize their capabilities.

    "We need to move forwards towards economic development without populism. There is a blueprint for change and we will  implement ", the Prime Minister underscored.
