Ukraine is ready for the heating season, all energy systems are operating in a routine mode, and the problems emerging in some regions are local problems, the solution of which is the direct responsibility of the local authorities. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claimed during A Question Time for the Government at the Verkhovna Rada.
"I call on all politicians to stop to intimidate the citizens with the disruption of the heating season. Ukraine is ready. There are gas reserves, there are no problems with the electricity, the system operates in a regular mode. I want to emphasize again: the responsibility for heating, electricity and hot water lies with the local authorities", the Head of Government stressed.
He also drew attention to the fact that the regions possess enough resources. "Due to the decentralization tens of billions of hryvnias are allocated to the local self-governments. The task is to use these resources effectively, the Prime Minister added. - I do not see problems here".
Volodymyr Groysman recalled that tough negotiations with international partners on gas prices for population are underway. The need to hold these talks stems from the necessity to continue cooperation and pay off debts accumulated during period of 2005 - 2013 - the most favorable time that could be spent on strengthening its own gas production, but at that time other decisions were taken.
The Prime Minister assured that the heating season will start as scheduled.
