On March 15, Ukraine evacuates 95 Ukrainian citizens from Venice who had previously tried to return to Ukraine but were stuck at the Italian border due to the closure by Slovenia of some border crossings with Italy.

On the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and to ensure the implementation of the Government's decision, the SkyUp Airlines special flight departed from Boryspil Airport at 16:00. This is only the first board to evacuate Ukrainians who cannot return home through quarantine.

It will operate the route Kyiv (Boryspil) - Venice (Airport Marco Polo) - Kyiv (Boryspil).

On board of the aircraft there will be employees of The Center for Disaster Medicine. The entire crew is also provided with face masks and disinfectants, in accordance with the general recommendations by the Ministry of Health for the employees of the transport industry.

The medical examination of passengers will be carried out in Italy prior to boarding in accordance with the algorithms. During the flight, the doctors will conduct health and sanitary control. Upon arrival in Ukraine, all evacuees are required to undergo 14-day self-isolation (home quarantine).

“We have done all the necessary research to determine the state of health of our passengers. Self-isolation measures will be applied to people without symptoms of acute viral diseases and with a negative COVID-19 test result.

I emphasize that staying at home for self-isolation, as well as conducting outpatient treatment of people with mild run of the disease, is safe for others, on condition on abiding by the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, which are specified in the Standards for the provision of medical assistance”, said the Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.
