  • Ukrainian farmers sowed almost 6 million hectares of winter crops

    Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.98 million hectares of winter crops. Winter grains are sown in all regions, with almost 4.9 million hectares (95%) sown. Over 1 million hectares of winter rape have been sown.

    In particular:

    • winter wheat – 4.3 million hectares (96%);
    • winter barley – 543,600 hectares (85%);
    • winter rye – 67,900 hectares (96%);
    • winter rape – 1.07 million hectares (96%).

    Farmers in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing winter crops. Farmers in 12 regions have completed sowing winter rape.

    Among the leaders in terms of winter grain sowing are farmers in Mykolaiv region – 503,100 hectares (100.5%), Zaporizhzhia region – 100,800 hectares (99.9%), and Khmelnytskyi region – 238,800 hectares (99.5%).
