Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi met with Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria Kiril Vatev as part of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Markiyan Dmytrasevych also took part in the talks.
The parties discussed the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. In particular, they focused on the details of implementing the licensing mechanism for certain types of agricultural products proposed by Ukraine.
Mykola Solskyi thanked his colleague for the understanding and noted the fruitful communication between the two ministries. He stressed that Ukraine highly appreciated Bulgaria’s support.
According to Kiril Vatev, the Bulgarian government is preparing proposals to introduce a licensing procedure. In particular, the possibility of licensing sunflower is being considered. The Bulgarian minister pledged his support for Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
Ministers agreed to coordinate the situation regarding the timing of the start of exports under the new rules and the list of agricultural products.
The meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council takes place on 23-24 October in Luxembourg.
