Ukraine and Serbia enhance cooperation to support older people

On the sidelines of an international seminar, Inna Solodka, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, held a meeting with Tamara Vučić, First Lady of the Republic of Serbia.

The parties discussed current demographic challenges, as well as approaches to the development of social services. Particular attention was paid to the issue of supporting older people.

“We want to build a system that helps people live longer, remain active for longer and receive support exactly where they want to live – within their families, their communities and their familiar surroundings,” said Inna Solodka.

For her part, Tamara Vučić announced her intention to visit Ukraine to take part in the First Ladies and Gentlemen’s Summit, scheduled for 24 August this year.

The meeting also covered further cooperation in the social sphere. In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of holding a meeting with Denys Uliutin, Ukraine’s Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity, to present the Ministry’s key priorities and exchange experiences.

It should be noted that a seminar was held in Rome dedicated to issues of state policy in the field of social protection.
