Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, posted 11 February 2026 17:10

The European Parliament has approved a package of legislative acts to provide Ukraine with a EUR 90 billion loan for 2026–2027 to finance urgent needs.

Of this amount, EUR 60 billion will be allocated to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and procuring military equipment, both within Ukraine itself and in the European Union and the countries of the European Free Trade Association: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

“We expect a swift process for the disbursement of funds so that these resources reach the frontline without delay. In this war, speed is as important as weapons. Thanks to the President – this is the result of diplomatic efforts on the international stage. We are grateful to our European partners for their steadfast support of Ukraine,” Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov emphasised.

Under the terms of the loan, Ukraine will be required to repay it in the event that russia pays reparations for the damage caused by the war.
