The state of preparation for the heating season, the work of the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex during the autumn-winter period of 2022/2023, and the liquidation of the consequences of russian military aggression in the power supply system were among the topics for the discussion during a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters held on September 29 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"All of Europe is preparing for the most challenging winter due to russia's aggression. Ukraine must also go through this heating season demonstrating dignity and composure," the Head of Government emphasized.

As reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, Ukraine's readiness for the heating season makes up 88%. In the first decade of October, this indicator should approach 100%. In addition, the heads of almost 140 cities, together with the Ministry and the Naftogaz company, conducted enhanced preparations for winter. Anti-crisis plans of each region have been developed.

The participants of the meeting heard a report from the Ministry of Energy regarding the accumulation of energy resources. According to the data provided by the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, there are currently about 2 million tons of coal and almost 14 billion cubic meters of gas in Ukrainian underground storage facilities. The Prime Minister tasked NJSC Naftogaz and the Ministry of Energy to increase the amount of gas, coal and fuel oil at the beginning of the heating season.

In addition, at the meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, the head of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision reported about repair programs, and the head of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, which exercises state regulation in the fields of energy and communal services, - regarding the financial condition of energy industry enterprises.

According to the results of the work of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, the task was given to speed up the accumulation of energy resources to the largest extent possible and to develop plans for their effective use in the autumn-winter period. In particular, consider the possibilities of operational increasing of domestic production of gas and coal, adjusting energy balances, and stimulating the reduction of electricity consumption during peak hours.
