Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, posted 19 May 2023 19:01

Today, on 19 May, the Government approved a draft Memorandum of understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on mutual acceptance of state quality assurance for defence goods, works and services. On the Ukrainian side, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov was authorised to sign the document.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to continue cooperation between the two countries in the military-technical and military-industrial sectors, to ensure the quality of defence goods, works and services in accordance with NATO standards, and to regulate cooperation between NATO member Turkey and partner country Ukraine in the field of quality assurance of defence goods, works and services.

It is worth noting that NATO member states and other leading countries have established and are operating state quality assurance systems. They are based on the relevant NATO quality assurance standards (AQAP) and are designed to address the quality assurance of defence goods.

Their purpose is to meet the requirements of interoperability, namely, the processes, procedures, provisions and conditions under which mutual quality assurance of defence goods, works and services must be carried out by the relevant authorised body of one NATO member state at the request of another NATO member state or NATO organisation.
