  • Ukraine agrees on 3,000 transit permits with Azerbaijan

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan have agreed to issue 3,000 transit permits to Ukrainian carriers.

This refers to transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan. This number of permits will be enough to cover all the needs of Ukrainian carriers until the end of 2023.

Earlier, Azerbaijan changed the procedure and removed the option to purchase a transit permit at the country’s border.

The forms of the relevant permits for freight transport have already been received by the Ukrainian side. They will be available for ordering starting from Friday, 26 May at 15:00.

Information on the availability of permits by permit issuance points is available on the official website of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety in the section “Remaining permits at permit issuance points”.

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development has also initiated a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani joint commission on international road transport to discuss the issue of determining the transit quota of permits for the current and subsequent years.
