  • Three shelters will be set up in schools thanks to funding from the Lithuanian government and the UNITED24 platform

    The Government has allocated UAH 32.85 million for major repairs and construction of shelters in three general secondary education institutions. These are funds that Ukraine received as part of the Lithuanian government’s support through the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

    The relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On the allocation of funds in 2024 from the account for the needs of education and science opened by the Ministry of Education and Science at the National Bank to meet the needs of ensuring a safe educational environment” was approved at a meeting today, 18 July.

    The funds are allocated to:

    • UAH 987,940: overhaul of a civil defence or dual-purpose protective structure at the hub institution of general secondary education of the Tuzly village council of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, Odesa region;
    • UAH 19.08 million: construction of a civil protection facility at the lyceum of the Bohdanivka village council of Pavlohrad district, Dnipropetrovsk region;
    • UAH 12.78 million: overhaul of a civil defence or dual-purpose protective structure at the lyceum of the Sad village council in Sumy district.

    We are grateful for the support of the Lithuanian government and UNITED24 in providing schools with shelters.

    As a reminder, three schools have already received funds raised by the foundation for the repair and construction of shelters.
