The participants of the Ukrainian-Norwegian business Forum chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg discussed implementation of joint projects in the field of energy efficiency and clean energy.
Norway is a strategically important partner for Ukraine. We have shared objectives in renewable energy. So, in 2016, Norway had about 70% of "green" energy in the final energy consumption.
Norwegian companies (NBT, Scatec Solar, Norsk Solar, etc.) are entering our domestic market with their experience, technologies and investments.
Representatives of companies commended positive transformations in the creation of transparent investment conditions in clean energy, namely, pegging the green tariff to the euro; cancellation of the requirement for a local component, long-term contracts for the sale of electricity at the "green" tariff and other incentives. All these measured enabled the activation of financial organizations and access to the necessary credit resources during the launch of projects.
The plans include introduction of a fair market price for "clean" electricity and a competition between investors through auctions.
Apart from that, participants considered a significant potential of Ukraine in the field of energy efficiency and success in implementing the ESCO-mechanism for insulation of budgetary institutions and government objects.
In general, Norwegian companies and experts reported that they saw a positive trend in the development of energy efficiency and clean energy projects in Ukraine and are ready to continue cooperation.
