    Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, posted 01 June 2023 17:26

    On 1 June 2023, when an International Children's Day is marked, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted two important resolutions on school meals at an extraordinary meeting:

    - "On the Implementation of a Joint Project with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to Provide Financial Support to General Secondary Education Institutions in the 2023/24 Academic Year".

    The Resolution provides for the provision of financial support to general secondary education institutions in the 2023/24 academic year to reimburse funds spent on the organisation of hot meals for students in grades 1-4 and is aimed to improve the organisation of meals in general secondary education institutions, thereby affecting the ability of territorial communities to provide hot meals for students;

    - "On Amendments to the Procedure for Organising Catering in Educational Institutions and Children's Health and Recreation Facilities".

    The adopted Resolution will improve the organisation of catering in educational institutions and children's health and recreation facilities where the organisation of hot meals is impossible and/or economically inexpedient.

    The Resolution is supplemented by the Procedure for Catering in Educational Institutions and Children's Health and Recreation Facilities, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 305 dated 24 March 2021, with a new paragraph that will allow adding technological models of catering and allowing catering in preschool education institutions.
