  • Ruslan Strilets met with UN Environment Programme Executive Director Inger Andersen to discuss consequences of Kakhovka HPP blow-up

    Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets met with UN Environment Programme Executive Director Inger Andersen on the sidelines of the Africa Climate Summit. The parties discussed the final stages of the assessment of the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant blow-up and the roadmap for the restoration of southern Ukraine.

    “UNEP continues to support the environmental agenda in Ukraine. 23 experts from 13 different institutions, together with the team of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, are finalising the assessment of the environmental impact of the Kakhovka HPP blow-up. The results of their work will be presented in the near future,” said Ruslan Strilets.

    The Minister thanked Inger Andersen for her support and invited her to visit Ukraine.
