Those who fire at convoys will stand trial, says Iryna Vereshchuk
Those who shell the convoys will be brought to justice before the court, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk stated today on 1 + 1 channel.
"We are constantly negotiating with representatives of the occupier about the humanitarian corridors and the return of our people, but these processes are not always predictable and successful," she said. "After all the approvals and permits from the russian side, then suddenly someone decides to fire on convoys with humanitarian aid or evacuation corridors. At the same time, they are well aware that they are committing prohibited acts."
Ukraine constantly reminds the russian side of compliance with international military and humanitarian law. The process of implementation and violation of agreements is recorded daily, and a register of violations is compiled every evening. It includes all cases of shelling, bombing, attacks on humanitarian convoys, cargo, and kidnappings. These reports are sent to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, Iryna Vereshchuk reminded.
"As a Minister responsible for International Humanitarian Law issues, I am ready to testify in court. When the war is over, it will only begin for war criminals," the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine warned the enemies.
