The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated more than UAH 2.5 billion from the state budget reserve fund to the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. The funds will be used to install modular boiler houses and gas generators in Kharkiv and neighbouring communities, to reconstruct some heating plants, and to build new gas boiler houses to provide people with heating and electricity. The Government made the decision at a meeting on 13 June 2024.
"The Government has allocated UAH 2.5 billion from the state budget reserve fund to install appropriate heat and power distributed energy capacities in Kharkiv, as well as in the Pisochynska, Slobozhanska and Solonytska hromadas. This is important to ensure that Kharkiv and the region's residents have electricity and heat in winter. Currently, the region regularly suffers from russian shelling, including the energy infrastructure. Its restoration is the number one priority," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The installation of cogeneration units, modular boilers and gas generators, reconstruction of heating plants and construction of new gas boilers will provide heat and energy to people and make the region's energy system less vulnerable to enemy attacks.
