June 29, Berlin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka took part in the Conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the German-Ukrainian Forum and the 30th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic links between Ukraine and Germany.
Within the framework of the conference panel discussions on the prospects for the development of the Ukraine-EU dialogue and the intensification of bilateral trade and economic cooperation in the current challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic were held.
The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including experts from the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Government of Bavaria and other government agencies of Germany.
Background
Germany is a strategic trade partner of Ukraine as well as in the TOP-10 countries with the highest rates of bilateral trade.
In 2019, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $8.37 billion, which is 2.2% more than in 2018. In particular, exports to Germany amounted to $2.38 billion (+ 7.9%), imports - $5.99 billion (+ 0.1%).
