Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 03 June 2024 10:54

Power supply restrictions are in place for consumers; more than 55,000 customers are without power due to the weather

    GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Over the past day, the needs of consumers were covered by domestic generation and commercial imports.

Throughout the day, emergency outages were applied and hourly outage schedules were in effect. The reason for this was the difficult situation in the power system following the recent russian attacks. No emergency assistance was provided to the Ukrainian power system. During the day, generation from renewable energy sources in the western region was limited.

Today, restrictions on household and industrial consumers are applied throughout the day throughout Ukraine.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

In Kharkiv region, a gas pipeline of a gas production company was damaged by shelling. Gas supply to consumers was not interrupted. The gas leak has been repaired.

    STATE OF THE GRIDS

In Sumy region, equipment at a high-voltage substation was shut down for technological reasons. As a result, agricultural enterprises, local industrial and household consumers in Sumy lost power. The equipment was put back into operation and all consumers were supplied with power.

Later, during a thunderstorm, another technological failure occurred at the same substation, resulting in a further blackout. All consumers were reconnected.

Also in Sumy region, an overhead line was disconnected during a thunderstorm, and household consumers and the hospital in Shostka lost power.

In Chernihiv region, two overhead lines were disconnected to extinguish a fire that occurred at the equipment of one of the regional power company's substations. As a result, household and industrial consumers in Slavutych lost power.

In Volyn region, an overhead line of a regional power company was disconnected. As a result, household consumers in Volodymyr lost power. All of them have been reconnected.

    CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER

Due to the bad weather, 312 settlements were cut off from electricity supply, affecting more than 55,000 customers in total. The largest number of de-energised settlements is in Sumy region (173) and Kyiv region (53).

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased to 15.21 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 27,178 MWh. No exports are expected.
